Rolex SS Explorer ref 5500 "Super Precision" circa 1962. Magnificent correct and original glossy black dial with gilt printing and nicely patina'd luminous indexes and hands. With 19mm light Oyster ref 7205 bracelet with deployant clasp dated 1967. This is the rare and correct version of the 5500 Explorer. Ref 5500 Oyster Perpetual models are freqently offered for sale with matte black Explorer dials that are not original to the watch, and are misrepresented as Explorer 5500's. The current model is a beautiful and correct rare example of the 5500 Explorer.
